Equipment protection level Gc for zones 1 and 2

ABB offers wide range of Non-sparking Ex nA motors for zones 1 and 2. Motors are certified according to IECEx and ATEX، as well as many other international and local requirments.

Ex nA protection prevents sparks or any exceeding surface temperature from occuring in normal situation for which the motor is certified.

During the design- and manufacturing process of Ex nA motor، In addition to the minimum gap between the rotor and the stator، the non-sparking inside the motor is ensured by:

• Minimum value for clearances and creepage distances according to the latest standards
• Insulation material with the highest class of resistance to tracking
• Minimum IP 54 protection
• Clamping of conductors
