Equipment protection level Gc for zones 1 and 2

ABB offers wide range of Non-sparking Class 1 Division 2 motors for zones 1 and 2. Motors are certified according to NEC / CEC، as well as many other international and local requirments.

Class 1 Division 2 protection prevents sparks or any exceeding surface temperature from occuring in normal situation for which the motor is certified.

During the design- and manufacturing process of Class 1 Division 2 motor، In addition to the minimum gap between the rotor and the stator، the non-sparking inside the motor is ensured by:

• Minimum value for clearances and creepage distances according to the latest standards
• Insulation material with the highest class of resistance to tracking
• Minimum IP 54 protection
• Clamping of conductors
